Why Discover.Dealflow.eu?
The EU is investing billions into tens of thousands of research projects, generating many new startups. Until the introduction of the Discover.Dealflow.EU platform (free access), it was almost impossible for investors and corporates to discover these promising startups.
What makes these startups so interesting?
- Pre-selected – The European Commission carefully selects only the most innovative projects for grant funding
- De-risked – Companies receive millions of R&D funding to make their innovations ready to go to market
- Perfect timing – The R&D funding is only, you guessed it, for R&D. This results in companies not gaining a lot of revenue and still having reasonable valuations while having highly innovative and fully developed products with strong competitive moats; resulting in the perfect investment opportunities for investors.

Each startup, corporate and investor has their own profile, which they can update themselves and which will appear in search results. This enables for example investors and corporates to discover and connect with the relevant startups; having already resulted in hundreds of new deals and investments.

How to search for the next EU unicorn
Besides having Suggested Searches, investors can use the “Advanced Filters” to tailor their searches, such as location, age, market maturity, women-led, technologies, fundraising amount and funding to date, industries, SDGs, funding details, and many others.
Request an introduction
Investors can quickly request introductions to EU-backed innovators by clicking the “Get Introduced Button” on the companies’ profiles. This feature saves time and resources, increases deal flow, and facilitates the investment process.
Where should I start?
- Explore the +10,000 startups that have received EU funding, customise your search, save and export it.
- Access the full database of +5,000 startups & scaleups funded by the EIC and filter them by funding program.
- Explore all the EU projects and their resulting nearly 20,000 innovations that received EU funding under the Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020 and FP1 to 7 funding programs (€500bn under management).
- Find the most relevant innovation-related events in Europe and subscribe to the calendar.
