Monaco raises $35M for AI sales platform with humans in the loop

What's the deal? Monaco, an AI-native sales platform, emerged from stealth with $35M in funding. Brothers SamDealroom has a profile for this one. The platform targets early-stage startups with an AI-powered CRM, prospect database, and automated outreach tools. What sets Monaco apart: it pairs AI with human salespeople who monitor and guide the system.

Founders Fund led both the $10M seed and $25M Series A rounds, with Human CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →participating. Why now? The Blond brothers noticed that promising startups often struggle — or fail — because they don't understand sales. Monaco spent a year in stealth, testing with customers before opening its public beta on Wednesday.

What could go wrong? The AI sales tech market is packed. Y Combinator alone has graduated hundreds of sales startups in recent years. Competitors range from incumbents like Salesforce, HubSpot, and ZoomInfo to upstarts like Attio, Clay, and AI SDR tools such as 11x and ArtisanDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

All incumbents are adding their own AI features. As Blond acknowledges, there's no clear winner yet among the challengers.

The signal: Blond sees a platform shift coming. "There's a market leader right now. That market leader is Salesforce," he says. "We are in the early innings of the next platform shift that will lead to a new market leader."

Monaco's human-in-the-loop approach stands out. Most AI sales startups talk about replacing humans; Monaco makes experienced salespeople available to companies too small to hire them directly.

No AI avatars pretending to be reps — real people handle customer meetings.

The company has about 40 employees and is hiring.
