UAE's Cobi raises $1M pre-seed for its AI customer-intelligence stack

What's the deal? Cobi, a UAE-based startup building an AI decision stack for customer intelligence, has raised $1 million in a pre-seed round. Lunara Partners led, with Plug and Play, Annex InvestmentsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Spring participating.

What's the endgame? Cobi reads behavioural, transactional, product, and engagement signals in real time to flag shifts in customer preferences, growth, or disengagement. It then recommends a next action and delivers that decision through the tools a company already uses.

The pitch targets a common enterprise problem: customer data sits in fragmented systems, tools return conflicting signals, and teams decide manually — often too late. "By the time an answer is reached, the optimum intervention opportunity has passed," the company said.

Where the money goes: Cobi plans to accelerate enterprise deployments across the Middle East and internationally, deepen its recommendation and decisioning capabilities, and automate more workflows between raw signals and executed decisions.

Who's behind it? CEO Darren Edmund previously advised European financial institutions at Deloitte and served as chief business officer at droppDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. "Most data platforms and AI systems still flatten that relationship into transactions, scores and predefined signals," Edmund said, arguing that nuance is "fundamental to building real customer connection."

The signal: At $1 million, the round sits in the lower quarter of pre-seed deals by size, a modest cheque for an early team. But the enterprise logos and multi-year contract suggest Cobi is chasing revenue and validation before scale — a pragmatic path in a crowded AI-for-customer-data market.
