AI sales startup Rox hits $1.2B valuation and $8M ARR with new round

What's the deal?

Rox, a year-old startup building autonomous AI agents for sales teams, has raised a new funding round led by General Catalyst that values it at $1.2B, according to sources cited by TechCrunch .

Neither company has confirmed the round. Rox was projected to close 2025 with $8M in annual recurring revenue — context that makes the $1.2B valuation a striking bet on future growth.

Founded in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee , formerly chief growth officer at New Relic, Rox previously raised $50M across a Sequoia-led seed and a General Catalyst-led Series A announced in November 2024.

It plugs into a company's existing software stack — from Salesforce to Zendesk — and deploys AI agents that monitor accounts, research prospects, and update CRM data automatically. Customers include Ramp, MongoDB, and New Relic.

Why now?

The pitch is consolidation: rather than adding another point solution to an already fragmented sales tech stack, Rox positions itself as the layer that replaces several of them.

What could go wrong?

A $1.2B valuation against $8M in projected ARR implies a 150x revenue multiple — an aggressive bet that leaves little room for a slow ramp.

The competitive field is also intensifying rapidly. Rox faces established players like Gong and Clari, AI-native rivals such as 11x and Artisan, and a new wave of all-in-one CRM startups. Monaco, founded by former Brex president Sam Blond , launched out of stealth last month alone.

The signal:

Rox is one of several startups betting that the CRM category — long dominated by Salesforce — is ripe for disruption. If AI agents can handle the monitoring, updating, and prospecting work that salespeople currently do manually, the value of legacy CRM software diminishes. The real question is whether Rox can grow into its valuation before the field gets too crowded to differentiate.
