Agroland raises €2.06M in bond sale to fund Romanian egg project

What's the deal? Agroland Business SystemDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Romanian retail, agribusiness, and food group, has raised €2.06 million through a private bond placement, it announced at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → on November 4. The five-year bonds carry a fixed 10% annual coupon, paid semi-annually in euros.

The details: Investors subscribed 20,600 bonds at a nominal value of €100 each, within an approved ceiling of €2.7 million. Intermediary TradeVilleDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → ran the placement, which closed after a window running October 29 to November 4. Settlement is expected on November 9.

What's the endgame? The proceeds will partly support Agroland's roughly €20 million Mihăilești egg-production project, which is set to add capacity for about 600,000 hens, with full production targeted for 2028. A larger investment loan is expected to fund the rest.

Why now? The 10% coupon sits in line with elevated yields on Romanian corporate bonds. Bittnet's 2026 five-year euro issue carried a 10.6% coupon, though that one was guaranteed — Agroland's bonds are unsecured.

The context: By size, the issue is modest; at about $2.3 million, it falls in the bottom tier of recent rounds. But its significance lies in market infrastructure: it is expected to be among the first listings on BVB's newly approved SME Growth Market.

That segment, cleared by the Financial Supervisory Authority in September, is designed as a preparatory stage for small and medium-sized companies seeking capital. It offers a framework to strengthen governance and raise visibility with investors, with a possible later transfer to the Regulated Market.

The signal: Agroland's bond is a small deal doing double duty — funding a concrete expansion while helping open a new financing route for Romania's growing companies.
