Manchester buys RV4 for $364M, pushing assets to US$7.42B
What's the deal? Manchester InvestimentosDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired RV4, a São Paulo investment advisory firm, in a deal valued at US$511.6M. The purchase adds roughly US$511.6M in client assets, lifting Manchester to US$7.42B. Both firms belong to brokerage XPDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s network of independent advisory offices.
Why now? It is Manchester's fifth integration in 18 months, adding a combined US$1.28B in assets. Chief executive officer Henrique Baggenstoss ties the pace to industry consolidation driven by Brazil's high interest rates. "The market abroad consolidated, and in Brazil this trend, already underway, will accelerate in the coming years," he said (translated from Portuguese).
What's the endgame? Manchester, founded nearly six decades ago in Joinville, wants to build a US$25.6B operation. RV4's founders, Rafael Grisanti and Victor Basile, become partners and will drive the firm's São Paulo expansion.
Who gains what? The acquisition brings 40 people into Manchester's 400-strong team, with plans to add 70 more in 2027. For RV4, joining a larger structure means serving its roughly 3,000 clients without building new service lines from scratch.
Baggenstoss argues clients now want more than investment picks. "The client wants the complete service, or will look for it elsewhere," he said (translated from Portuguese), citing demand for succession planning, wealth management, and currency services.
The signal: Brazil's independent advisory sector is consolidating. In July, XP-affiliated Barsi InvestimentosDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → bought DiagramaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with about US$230.2M in assets, and in November ÁvelDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → announced a deal for Westlink. Manchester's distinguishing feature is its acquisition pace, as it races to scale amid a shifting market.
