China's Bangxin Semiconductor raises $89.9M to scale chip-tool output
What's the deal? Shanghai Bangxin Semiconductor TechnologyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised US$82.5M in a Series B extension, the company said. Jiangxia Science and Technology Investment GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led the round, with BOC CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Yangtze Venture Capital participating.
What does the company do? Founded in 2020, Bangxin builds front-end semiconductor equipment, with a product line spanning dielectric etching, dry chemical etching, and tungsten thin-film deposition. Its tools target compound chips and silicon-based specialty processes.
What's the money for? According to the company, proceeds will fund advanced-process equipment research, capacity expansion, and a delivery network in central China.
Why now? The round follows a strategic financing of several tens of millions of CNY completed in October, backed by Chuxin Holdings Group. The back-to-back raises suggest investors are still funding domestic equipment makers as they expand.
The signal: China is accelerating its push to replace imported chip-making gear. Industry reports put domestic tools at roughly 35% of equipment installed at Chinese fabs in 2025, with etching and deposition among the furthest along. For Bangxin, the raise supplies resources for product iteration and customer adoption — but whether it can convert that into steady volume orders will say more about its competitiveness than the funding size alone.
