SolarSpace to buy control of EGING PV in $108M deal

What's the deal? Solar cell maker SolarSpaceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → will acquire a controlling stake in module manufacturer EGING PV for US$98.9M (≈$108 million). Under the revised agreement, SolarSpace buys at least 399.5 million shares, while Ningbo Ruilian invests a further US$13.8M for at least 55.55 million shares.

Why now? EGING PV faces serious financial and listing risks, with audited net assets of negative US$45M at the end of 2025. That triggered a delisting risk warning from the Shanghai Stock Exchange; if a court rejects its reorganisation application, the company could face bankruptcy liquidation and delisting.

What changed? The deal reshapes an arrangement EGING PV announced in October 2026, which would have made Ningbo Ruilian the controlling shareholder. SolarSpace will now take that role instead.

What's the endgame? SolarSpace runs solar cell production with facilities in Laos and sells mainly into North America. EGING PV operates cell and module capacity in Changzhou, serving Asia, Europe, and South America — adding module manufacturing to SolarSpace's portfolio.

The signal: The transaction lands amid a tough stretch for solar manufacturing, where global overcapacity and a supply-demand imbalance have squeezed prices and profits. It is part of a wider consolidation wave — Changzhou Almaden is set to pass to a trading-card firm, Shanghai Qixing, while Shenzhen Nanshan PowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → plans to buy a majority stake in TrinaTracker.
