Knoxville's Asqr raises round led by Market Square Ventures for AI event intelligence

What's the deal? AsqrDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Knoxville AI startup, has raised funding led by Market Square VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with UT Ventures participating, the companies announced in October. The platform uses AI to replace traditional help desks at live events with what it calls "guest intelligence" that helps operators understand and engage audiences.

Why now? Live-event teams are drowning in fan questions, with a single festival fielding more than 20,000 emails over a few months. Founder and chief executive officer Carey Archer argues that even big entertainment companies lack sophisticated technology, leaving small teams overwhelmed.

The backstory: Archer built the logistics technology that ran Bonnaroo, later spinning it out as Dataflow Enterprises with Robby Black, now Asqr's chief technology officer. After selling that company, Archer spent years consulting for events including Coachella and Stagecoach, concluding that producers needed guidance as much as software.

Who's backing it? UT Ventures, the University of Tennessee Research Foundation's angel network launched in January 2026, made Asqr its second investment. Both founders are UT Knoxville alumni. "Having my alma mater invest in Asqr means a lot," Archer said. "Grateful to Market Square Ventures for leading the round."

The round's size and terms were not disclosed, making its financial significance hard to assess.

The signal: The deal fits a broader push to apply AI and audience data to live-event operations — event-marketing platform Hive raised a $27 million Series B in October, and Easol announced a $30 million package with AI agents for festival promoters. Those larger rounds signal investor interest in audience tools, even if they are not a direct measure of Asqr's traction. For Knoxville, the deal shows a young local funding network — Market Square Ventures and UT Ventures — backing regional founders.
