What's the endgame? Siena started with an empathic AI customer service agent and now bills itself as the "Agent of Record" for consumer brands — a shared intelligence layer connecting customer-facing agents, internal agents and human teams. It plans to use the capital to build more autonomous agents and expand the infrastructure brands use to serve customers and grow revenue.
How does it work? Siena's Shopping and Social Agents answer questions, recommend products and close purchases inside conversations, while its voice agents draw on the same customer context. A shared inbox lets human and AI teams work side by side, with enterprise controls including A/B testing, a Quality Suite that grades agent performance and Autopilot for building agents faster.
Who's using it? Hundreds of consumer brands, including FIGS, SPANX, ComfrtDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and HexClad, work with Siena, which automates up to 80% of customer interactions. At SPANX, the company traced a spike in shipping complaints to a single carrier issue affecting nearly every delivery in one region; EskiinDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Social Agent lifted weekly comment engagement by 50%.
The pitch: "Support, shopping and social may be different departments inside a company," said Lisa Popovici, cofounder and president of Siena. "To the customer, they're one relationship." The platform pools conversations, orders, subscriptions, reviews and loyalty data in Siena Intelligence, so each agent draws on context the brand has already accumulated.
The signal: Investors are betting the customer experience stack will be rebuilt around shared customer intelligence rather than siloed channels. "We believe Siena can become as essential to running a brand as its commerce platform," said Tom Holahan, general partner at York IE — a sign of how central autonomous agents are becoming to how consumer brands sell and retain customers.
