Who's backing it? NPIF II offers loans from £25,000 to £2 million and equity up to £5 million for small and medium-sized businesses. Jane Siddle, senior investment executive at NEL, said the management team approached the fund with "a clear and well-defined growth strategy," focused on both scale and stronger operational foundations.

Managing director Nigel Morris said the round lets Nirvana "accelerate a transformation that is already well underway across the business," adding it is investing "in our technology, our people, and our commercial capability."

The signal: The repeat investment underlines how regional debt funds like NPIF II are backing specialist scaleups outside London, favouring proven operators with defined growth plans over speculative bets.
