Rio Health raises $4.5M seed+ to expand medicine quick-commerce in Delhi NCR

What's the deal? Rio HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an India-based quick-commerce platform for medicines and healthcare essentials, has raised US$5.85M in a seed+ round led by new investor Version One Ventures. Existing backers Xeed Ventures, Good CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Amplify Partners also participated.

Who put in what? Version One Ventures led with US$2.89M, followed by Xeed Ventures at US$1.61M and Good Capital Fund II at US$1.29M, while Amplify IV PCC invested US$63.8K. The company's post-money valuation stood at around US$23.1M, per Entrackr estimates.

What does it do? Founded by Ankur Agrawal and Amit Ahuja, Rio Health delivers medicines and healthcare essentials across Delhi NCR in 20 to 30 minutes. It offers access to more than 20,000 SKUs, with each dark store serving a radius of roughly three kilometres.

What's the endgame? The fresh funds will expand Rio Health's presence across Delhi NCR, grow its network from three to more than 15 dark stores, and strengthen the technology behind ordering, inventory, and delivery. It is targeting annual recurring revenue of more than US$20.4M over the next nine to twelve months.

By the numbers: The company processes more than 30,000 orders a month, with an average order value between US$8.15 and US$9.51. Nearly 80% of orders come from repeat customers.

How it works: Rio Health uses neighbourhood-level demand data to forecast which medicines are likely to be needed in each area and stocks its stores accordingly. Long-tail medicines can be sourced through its distributor network.

The signal: Applying the quick-commerce playbook to pharmacy is a growing bet in India, where speed and repeat purchases drive loyalty. Rio Health's high repeat rate and demand-forecasting model suggest an attempt to make rapid medicine delivery a durable, data-led business rather than a subsidy race.
