Ibex closes oversubscribed $87M Israel secondary fund
What's the deal? US investment firm Ibex InvestorsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed an oversubscribed $87 million fund, Ibex Secondary II LP, focused on secondary investments in Israeli private companies. It also named Osnat Velingard portfolio manager in its Tel Aviv office.
What's the endgame? The fund — Ibex's sixth Israel-focused vehicle — will buy existing stakes in private growth-stage companies from investment funds, employees, and the companies themselves. That gives shareholders a route to liquidity without an initial public offering or a new financing round.
The context: It follows Ibex's first Israel secondary fund, which raised $40 million in 2024, and a $106 million early-stage venture fund raised the same year. Ibex began investing in Israel in 2012 and now manages more than $1 billion across multiple strategies.
The new hire: Velingard, based in Tel Aviv, will focus on growth-stage investments alongside local partners Aaron Rinberg and Adi Dangot Zukovsky. "Her experience in growth-stage investing adds real depth and strength to our roster," said founder and chief investment officer Justin Borus.
Why now? Borus said limited partners still see opportunity in Israel despite upheaval since the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack. "Since Oct. 7, 2023, we've raised $267M for our Israel-focused funds," he said.
The signal: Recent Ibex exits include ServiceNow's acquisition of Traceloop, Check Point's acquisition of Cyclops, and Datavant's acquisition of DigitalOwlDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. A dedicated secondary vehicle signals continued demand for private-market liquidity in Israel while public listings stay scarce.
