What's the company do? ViaBot builds autonomous robots that sweep trash and debris across commercial property and provide soft security services like loitering detection and asset monitoring. Its flagship platform, the ViaBot One, currently services 25 million square feet of property.
What's the product? The ViaBot One uses cameras, lidar, depth sensors, DGPS, and dynamic path planning to map surroundings and run scheduled routes. It can hot-swap batteries for 12-24 hour runs, autonomous swap tools, and returns to its dock to recharge and empty debris into standard bins. It needs only a standard 120V outlet.
What's the money for? ViaBot will grow its sales and engineering teams, accelerate new product development, and keep improving its robotics-as-a-service model. The company reached unit-economic profitability through real-world deployments after releasing its RUNO prototype in 2021.
Why it stands out: The $24 million raise sits in the top fifth of comparable Series A deals — around the 80th percentile by amount — a notable size for an early-stage hardware company.
"We invest in teams that combine technical depth with the discipline to solve important customer problems," said Steve Anderson, founder of Baseline Ventures. "ViaBot has demonstrated both by building a compelling platform with a clear focus on real-world customer value."
The market: Businesses spend an estimated $9.1 billion a year on litter cleanup, and 94% of Americans view litter as a major problem, according to Keep America BeautifulDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. ViaBot's customers include Fortune 500 retailers, universities, and real estate owners across eight states.
The signal: An outsized early round for a robotics hardware startup signals investor appetite for autonomous systems targeting labour-heavy, unglamorous physical tasks — where clear unit economics and enterprise demand can outweigh the usual caution around hardware bets.
