The startup builds AI-native customer relationship management (CRM) software designed for use by AI agents.

Why now? The round follows a sharp pivot. Lightfield was previously Tome, an AI presentation builder that reached 25 million users and raised $80 million before founders Keith Peiris and Henri Liriani slashed headcount from 70 to seven to chase a bigger opportunity.

By the numbers: About 5,000 companies now use Lightfield, some with more than 100 employees on the platform. The company did not disclose revenue but says net dollar retention — a measure of how spend grows within its customer base — stands at 400%.

What's the endgame? Chief executive officer Keith Peiris frames Lightfield as more than a CRM. "Companies that love us the most treat us like their business world model," he says. "We are becoming the oracle to the executive team." The funding will scale its 40-person team, mainly in sales and engineering.

The raise is also a reset, styled as a Series A but backed by many investors who funded Tome's earlier rounds.

What could go wrong? Lightfield is entering a crowded market. Dozens of startups have targeted Salesforce over 20-plus years, and the incumbent still holds a market cap above $200 billion. Rivals span agentic sales tools like Attio and Reevo, outbound specialists like Apollo and Unify, and growth players like Clay, recently valued at $7.1 billion.

The signal: The deal sits in the top 2% of US Series A rounds in marketing over the past four years, underscoring how aggressively investors are backing AI-native software aimed at the enterprise sales stack.
