Olenbee raises $8.1M to modernise France's employee-benefits market
What's the deal? French fintech OlenbeeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €7 million (roughly $8.1 million) in an early-stage round to expand its artificial-intelligence technology for everyday expenses and benefits, including meal vouchers, gift cheques, culture, mobility, and cashback. The company operates as a mission-driven business aimed at helping people recover money owed to them in real time.
Who's backing it? The round drew GO CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Bpifrance, the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), Val de France AngelsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and All'n BreizhDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.
Why now? The raise comes a year after Olenbee's launch at VivaTech. It has since rolled out meal vouchers in June 2025 and gift cheques in June 2026, and now plans to add cashback, culture, and mobility.
What's the endgame? Olenbee wants to replace an industry built on delayed payments. Traditional benefits run on closed networks and dedicated payment methods designed more than 60 years ago, which the company says slow down money that users are owed.
Its proprietary technology, built on AI and open banking, is designed to be payment-method agnostic. It recognises an eligible expense without any setup and reimburses users directly to their bank accounts in real time, whether they pay by card, phone, or smartwatch.
What they said: "Fintech has disrupted banking, payments, health insurance, and credit. Only one large market has resisted: employee benefits," said Arnaud Martenat, chief executive officer and co-founder. "We didn't digitise the old model. We just made it useless" (translated from French).
What's next? The funding will support Olenbee's growth in France, aiming for 80,000 users by early 2027, and extend its technology to new everyday uses.
The signal: Employee benefits have largely escaped the fintech wave that reshaped banking and payments. Olenbee's round sits near the top third of comparable early-stage deals, a sign that investors see room to unbundle an ageing corner of the market.
