What changes? Carwow.de keeps its brand, team, and leadership, with Philipp Sayler von Amende staying on as CEO. Existing dealer and OEM relationships remain unaffected, and its auction product continues serving dealers sourcing used cars from consumers.
Until regulatory clearance, the two companies will run on a fully standalone basis with no operational integration. On closing, Carwow.de gains a perpetual licence to use the Carwow brand in Germany.
Why now? For Carwow Group, the sale sharpens its focus. "This shift allows us to sharpen our focus as we continue to innovate and accelerate our growth in the UK and Spain," said CEO John Veichmanis.
What's the endgame? mobile.de wants Carwow's transaction-focused capabilities in leasing and new-car sourcing. "Its strong focus on leasing, combined with its expertise in new-car search, configuration and Build-to-Order journeys, is exactly the kind of capability we want to invest in," said mobile.de CEO Ajay Bhatia.
