What's the deal? White Star CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has announced the final close of its Fund IV at $250 million. The vehicle will back internationally ambitious startups at the Series A and B stages, building on a portfolio that includes Butternut Box, FINN, and Vention.

The bigger picture: Together with its inaugural North American Seed Fund, announced in 2025, and several new special purpose vehicles, the firm has raised more than $350 million in fresh capital. That gives it the range to back founders from seed through Series B.

Why now? The firm frames the current market as one that demands more than money. It calls for "disciplined, thematic investing and a partner who understands the challenges of scaling across borders," the firm said.

What's the endgame? White Star Capital wants to partner with founders "who have the ambition, talent, and product to scale internationally," providing a global network and operational expertise in return. The strategy is a deepening of its core venture thesis rather than a change of course.

The track record: Launched more than 12 years ago, the firm has grown from five people across New York, Montreal, and London to over 50 across eight offices. It has led rounds into Sequen, Veesion, OatFi, AMI LabsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Tetrix, and Trayd, and logged 22 exits from a portfolio of more than 100 companies.

The signal: The close lands as European venture resets toward fewer deals and bigger bets. A cross-border firm betting on Series A and B — the stage where global ambition meets real traction — signals that capital is concentrating around founders who can scale beyond their home markets from day one.
