Serina raises up to $63.3M for Parkinson's candidate SER-252

Serina Therapeutics has secured capital commitments of up to $63.3 million in a private placement to advance SER-252, its Parkinson's disease candidate now in a Phase 1b trial. The financing includes potential warrants and is split across several tranches, a substantial portion of which closed in spring 2026.

SER-252 uses a POZ-apomorphine formulation designed for controlled release, delivered twice weekly via the enFuse patch system. The aim is to replace frequent injections with a simpler patch for patients with advanced Parkinson's.

Serina has completed the first cohort of the trial's single ascending dose stage, dosing eight patients since the first enrolment in February 2026. A blinded safety review is planned for September 2026, with a second cohort set to start in Q3 2026 and first topline data targeted for Q1 2027.

Serina reported $24.5 million in cash as of March 31, 2026, plus further inflows in April 2026. The company says that base should fund operations into the second half of 2027, tightening the link between clinical milestones and follow-on financing windows.

Greg Bailey takes the role of co-chairman on the board. Bailey is described as an experienced sector figure who was involved in Pfizer 's acquisitions of Biohaven for $11.6 billion and Medivation for $14 billion.

Serina cites a 505(b)(2) NDA as its long-term regulatory path, which can bridge existing findings and newly generated evidence where the data support it.

At $63.3 million, the round sits in the 95th percentile of non-VC private placements globally over the trailing 48 months, based on a sample of 5,599 deals. Pairing a concrete clinical milestone with a tranche-based raise reduces the classic early-stage funding-gap risk.
