CARPL.ai raises $10M Series A led by IFC for medical imaging AI

What's the deal? CARPL.ai, a healthtech startup, has raised $10 million (about ₹96 Cr) in a Series A round led by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group's private sector arm. Existing investor Stellaris Venture PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and undisclosed backers also joined.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2018 by Vidur Mahajan and launched in 2021, CARPL.ai runs a marketplace that lets hospitals and radiologists deploy, manage, and monitor multiple medical imaging AI applications through a single interface.

The pitch: each AI vendor typically ships its own software, APIs, and integration requirements, making it costly for hospitals to run several providers. CARPL.ai lets healthcare providers browse, test, and deploy commercial radiology AI models from different vendors in one place. It claims to host more than 300 applications from over 100 vendors.

Where's the money going? Mahajan told Inc42 the capital will fund product development, a stronger technology stack, and global expansion of its sales and delivery teams.

The traction: CARPL.ai serves 30 hospitals and medical centres across North America, Latin America, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Customers include the Singapore government, RadNetDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → in the US, I-MED Radiology Network in Australia, and Fleury in Brazil.

Headquartered in Delhi NCR with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Singapore, the startup has 80 employees. It previously raised $6 million in 2023 from Stellaris and angel investors.

Why IFC? The lead investor matters here. IFC's involvement signals institutional confidence in a startup targeting healthcare systems across emerging and developed markets, lending weight beyond the round size itself.

The signal: The round lands amid growing investor interest in AI across healthtech. In June, Mykare closed a $3.2 million round; a month earlier, wearable startup Gabit raised around ₹36.2 Cr. India's homegrown healthtech market is projected to reach a $37 billion opportunity by 2030.
