Business Kitz raises $3.3M pre-seed to automate SME back offices
Sydney-based startup Business Kitz has raised $3.3 million in pre-seed funding. Backers include Sam Ferrier and Rowan Hill from the Rural Bridge network, alongside former employees of Microsoft, Oracle, and TeamViewer.
Founded in 2016 by Sarina Eggers, Business Kitz runs a SaaS platform for creating, digitally signing, and storing business documents. It targets the back-office operations of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The company says it is onboarding thousands of users. It plans to use the capital to accelerate growth and expand into international markets.
Business Kitz was built by lawyers, accountants, and HR specialists — deep expertise, but a crowded field. Document management and compliance tools for SMEs face heavy competition from established software providers as the startup pushes abroad.
The round lands in the top tier of its market. Against all-time seed deals in Australia, $3.3 million sits in the 92.5th percentile across a sample of 3,410 rounds — a sign of investor appetite for tools that cut the administrative load on smaller businesses.
