Neko Health raises 265M SEK as it opens New York clinic

What's the deal? Neko Health, the preventive-health startup co-founded by Spotify's Daniel EkDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, has raised 265,000,000 SEK (about $27.5 million), Breakit reports. The company disclosed little about the deal.

Why now? The raise comes despite an already well-stocked treasury and lands alongside a physical push into the US. Neko recently opened a clinic in New York, adding to its existing sites in London and Stockholm.

What's the endgame? Neko runs AI-driven full-body scanning clinics focused on catching disease early. Ek has said he wants to build "the Apple of healthcare," with more than 100,000 people reportedly on its waiting list.

What could go wrong? Neko is putting its subscription-style, hardware-plus-software screening model to the test in mainstream healthcare, a category still unproven at scale. Expanding into the tightly regulated US market raises the stakes further.

The signal: Large generalist investors are betting that consumer-facing preventive diagnostics is an emerging category worth backing. Neko, valued at roughly $1.8 billion in an earlier round, is now a high-profile test case for whether tech-enabled screening can scale internationally.
