Graph Therapeutics raises $5M to advance precision immunology

What's the deal?

Graph Therapeutics, a techbio company developing precision medicines for inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases, has raised $5 million.

Paris-based venture firm Daphni led the round, joining existing investors SquareOne, Merantix Capital, and NAVEC Investment Management.

The company also secured non-dilutive funding from the Austrian Research Promotion Agency and Austria Wirtschaftsservice. That brings its total raised to over $10 million.

Why now?

Graph says it has validated and de-risked its "lab-in-the-loop" AI platform, which decodes immune dysfunction by analysing live patient cells, multi-omics data, and functional biology.

The new capital will advance its internal drug discovery pipeline across multiple disease indications and expand its platform.

The matured platform also opens the door to partnerships and out-licensing deals, extending its reach beyond Graph's own pipeline.

What could go wrong?

Drug discovery is slow, costly, and risky. Graph remains pre-clinical, so any therapies face years of testing before reaching patients.

It also operates in a crowded field, where many AI-driven biotechs are racing to turn patient data into viable treatments.

The signal:

Graph's early-stage round, blending equity from a Paris-based fund like Daphni with non-dilutive Austrian grant funding, reflects how techbio startups are assembling diversified capital stacks to fund slow, costly drug discovery. The continued backing from existing investors SquareOne, Merantix Capital, and NAVEC signals confidence in platforms that derive insights from real patient tissue rather than models alone.
