Bending Spoons secures €500M to fuel further acquisitions
Milan-based Bending Spoons has raised €500 million in fresh financing from a consortium of global banks including Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Barclays and Société Générale. The funding comes as the company doubles down on its strategy of growth through acquisitions, consolidating its role as one of Europe’s most aggressive software buyers.
Founded in 2013, Bending Spoons has built a portfolio of widely used consumer apps and, in recent years, has increasingly turned to M&A as a way of scaling beyond organic growth. Its acquisition of popular digital platforms has positioned it as a consolidator of consumer-facing software at a scale rare in Europe.
The new facility highlights growing confidence from international lenders in European tech operators willing to play at global scale. By tapping traditional banking capital rather than relying exclusively on venture funding, Bending Spoons underlines the maturing of Europe’s tech financing ecosystem.
With its war chest, the company is expected to continue targeting acquisitions that expand both its reach and its capabilities, adding further weight to Italy’s position on the European technology map.
