Eve Air Mobility raises $230M to accelerate Brazil’s eVTOL ambitions

Eve Air Mobility, the Embraer-backed developer of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has raised $230 million in a post-IPO round led by Brazil’s development bank BNDES. The capital injection comes at a critical stage, as Eve prepares for certification and industrial ramp-up of its aircraft.

The company has long positioned itself as Brazil’s answer to the global push for advanced air mobility, seeking to turn the country into a hub for eVTOL innovation. Unlike many competitors, Eve benefits from Embraer’s industrial backbone and existing aerospace expertise, which provides credibility with regulators and airlines alike.

For BNDES, the deal is as much about industrial policy as finance. By leading the round, the bank signals strong public backing for Brazil’s aviation ambitions, ensuring domestic innovation does not fall behind international peers in the US, China and Europe.

The round reinforces Eve’s place in a fast-maturing sector where regulation, manufacturing capacity and strategic partnerships will determine which players can take urban air mobility from prototype to reality.
