Arca raises $48.5M to put AI agents under human advisors' control

What's the deal? ArcaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a wealth management firm that calls itself "AI-native," has raised $48.5 million in a Series A led by General Catalyst, with Index Ventures and Venrock participating. Its agents handle analysis and workflow, but human advisors keep final authority over trades and money movement.

What's the endgame? Arca is building an advisory firm where, as lead AI engineer Aman Singh puts it, "agents prompt people more than people prompt agents." Agents run long-horizon tasks that can span up to ten days, backed by a per-client memory system tracking status, next steps, and who owns each action.

How it works: Arca uses frontier models from AnthropicDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and OpenAIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with ClaudeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → as its primary provider, and a custom harness that routes each task to the best model by internal benchmark. Safety limits are hard-coded, not left to the models. "All of our safety restrictions are fully deterministic," Singh said. "And they take the decision making off the agent's hands."

Why it matters: The round ranks in the 96th percentile of all-time US fintech Series A rounds, a sign of investor appetite for AI tools in regulated finance. Arca disclosed more than $1 billion in client assets at its June launch.

What could go wrong? The financing is not proof the model is established. Industry coverage has questioned how much of Arca's pitch is new AI versus a roll-up and overhaul of existing advisory operations.

The signal: Money is rushing into AI for wealth managers: rival NevisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised $70 million in October, with Charles SchwabDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → among its backers. Arca's bet is distinct — it builds an AI-native firm rather than selling software, wagering that automated analysis plus human sign-off is the safe path through a compliance-heavy sector.
