MotoGP's Álex Márquez backs Momoven's €3.5M round to fund expansion abroad
What's the deal? Spanish motorcycle rental platform MomovenDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €3.5 million (≈$3.9 million) in an early-stage round to fund international expansion. Backers include the Instituto Valenciano de Finanzas (IVF), state innovation body Empresa Nacional de Innovación (ENISADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →), and MotoGP rider Álex Márquez.
What does Momoven do? Founded by David Berbel, Pablo Carceller, and Jordi Royo, it connects motorcycle owners with people who want to rent them — mostly premium and mid-to-large displacement models. Unlike traditional firms that own and maintain fleets, Momoven links demand to bikes from private owners, rental companies, and third-party fleets.
That asset-light model lets it widen supply in each market without buying vehicles or building its own infrastructure, which eases entry into new countries.
By the numbers: More than 10,000 motorcycles have passed through its catalogue, with over 8,000 currently available. Its community is close to 100,000 users, and total funding raised now tops €5 million.
Why now? "This round comes at the ideal moment," said chief executive Berbel (translated from Spanish), citing the platform's validation in Spain. The capital will go toward product development, hiring, and a planned move abroad, reinforcing technology, marketing, operations, and business development.
Who else is in? Javier Martínez, a former Hawkers Co. executive, joins as an investor and strategic adviser on growth and branding. The round follows an €850,000 pre-Series A closed in September 2025, led by Márquez with Innoventures Capital, Malco Rent a Car, and Cuatroochenta founder Alfredo Cebrián.
The signal: The raise sits in roughly the 28th percentile by amount for comparable deals — modest capital, but it reflects steady investor appetite for asset-light mobility platforms. Momoven's deep ties to competition, from sponsoring Márquez to lending its name to the Momoven Moto4 European Cup, give it a brand edge as it targets markets beyond Spain.
