What's the endgame? Acnexa develops ArcXphere, a geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) platform that uses AI to analyse imagery from satellites, aircraft, and drones. It also builds ARC-B, an edge computing solution that runs AI in the field, where fast on-site analysis of large data volumes is in demand.
How did it come together? The Sejong Center discovered Acnexa through its "Startup-BuS in Sejong Demand Investment Round" this year, then ran due diligence and an investment review. It invested via the Sejong Painters Innovation Startup Investment Fund No. 1, before pursuing the TIPS recommendation with Painters & Ventures.
What's next? With TIPS support, Acnexa will advance its GEOINT and edge AI technologies, led by chief executive officer Lee Jae-young. The company plans demonstrations and commercialisation in the defense and public sectors first, then expansion into disaster safety and industrial uses.
The signal: The deal shows the Sejong Center chaining its support — discovery, direct investment, and TIPS recommendation — into one pipeline for local tech startups. It also reflects rising demand for AI that can turn growing streams of satellite and drone footage into usable intelligence.
