Magic Empire Global lands $100M credit line to fund timber-trading pivot
What's the deal? Magic Empire GlobalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (Nasdaq: MEGL) has secured a US$100 million dedicated credit facility from Anyu International Limited to finance its cross-border timber supply chain trading. The five-year facility, announced November 4, is restricted to timber procurement, imports, warehousing, logistics, insurance, and related trade settlement.
What's the endgame? MEGL is converting itself from its prior business into commodity trade and the timber industrial supply chain. The facility is designed to pair with a previously announced five-year framework with Singapore's SIN HOPEWAY, which contemplates up to US$500 million in cumulative transactions.
Together, the company frames the two as an integrated "sourcing + funding" structure, meant to turn upstream supply into executed trade flows across European and American timber markets.
Why now? The credit line caps a run of financing moves. In September, MEGL announced a $3 million registered direct offering and a $100 million at-the-market share program, making the facility part of a broader push to fund the pivot.
What could go wrong? The $100 million is not unrestricted cash. Drawdowns are conditional on trade authenticity, documentation, and compliance checks, and the undrawn portion is suspended pending Anyu's annual review.
The SIN HOPEWAY target is also not a guaranteed commitment; individual transactions still require separate contracts.
The signal: The facility dwarfs MEGL's market value — nine times its market cap — but its significance rests less on headline size than on execution. The test is whether MEGL can turn these financing and sourcing arrangements into completed trades.
