India's OBSESS raises $316K to unify a fragmented fitness market
What's the deal? Indian fitness platform OBSESS has raised about US$407.4K (roughly $316,000) in an angel round. The money came from Centricity co-founder Pushpendra Singh, Amit GoelDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Harshit Vij.
What's the endgame? Launched in March 2026 by Tushar Sharma and Yash Kumar, the Noida-based startup is building an integrated platform that connects users with gyms, sports facilities, trainers, nutrition solutions, and fitness products. It aims to tackle fragmentation in India's fitness industry, where gyms, trainers, venues, and brands often operate independently.
How it works: Its Obsess Play Partner lets users discover and book sports venues, with rewards through features such as Obsess Coins. A separate Gym Partner platform offers digital and operational tools for operators, while Event Partner handles ticketing and registration for marathons and cycling competitions.
What's the money for? OBSESS said it will use the proceeds to strengthen partnerships, expand its ecosystem, and invest in technology to build a "connected fitness experience."
The signal: India's fitness market is mixed and uneven. Brands such as Boldfit raised about US$54.3M in 2026 to expand offline, but broader sports-tech funding stayed modest. OBSESS's small angel round is an early-stage bet, and its significance will hinge on traction and how it deploys the capital.
