BANA Angels backs Armenian quantum-software startup BlueQubit
What's the deal? Angel syndicate BANA Angels has invested in BlueQubit, an Armenian-founded quantum-computing software startup. The amount was not disclosed.
BlueQubit's platform lets developers, researchers and companies build, test and run quantum applications on a range of quantum hardware and high-performance simulators, without needing deep quantum expertise.
Who's behind it? The company was founded by Armenian entrepreneurs Hrant Gharibyan and Hayk Tepanyan, both Stanford University alumni.
BlueQubit previously raised a $10M seed round from Nyca Partners, Formula VC, Granatus Ventures and others.
What could go wrong? Quantum advantage on commercial workloads is still unproven, and hardware-agnostic software layers compete with platforms run by the hardware makers themselves.
The signal: Diaspora angel capital is following institutional seed money into deep-tech built out of Armenia, a sign the ecosystem's investor base is broadening beyond SaaS and AI apps.
