Guava raises $12.5M seed to build developer tools for voice agents

What's the deal? Guava, a developer platform for building voice agents, has raised a $12.5 million seed round led by Acrew CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, chief executive officer Omri Dahan told Axios Pro.

What does Guava do? It sells a voice agent API aimed at regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, and insurance. The product is a Python library, not a no-code dashboard, pitched to engineering teams that want to version-control, test, and own their voice stack.

What's the endgame? Guava positions itself as infrastructure for building reliable, compliant voice agents. Every account carries SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST i1, and PCI DSS Level 1 certifications, with pricing from a free tier up to $499 a month.

Why now? The global market for voice agents is projected to reach $43.8 billion by 2036, Dahan said. Guava — formerly Gridspace, founded in 2012 — recently released its Daytona voice model and partnered with CarrierXDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: Investor interest in voice AI is strong but uneven. The largest enterprise-agent companies pull in hundreds of millions, while infrastructure startups like Modulate ($25 million) and Karta AI ($3 million) raise far smaller rounds. Guava's bet is on developer tooling rather than a scaled agent business — the question is whether its platform can stand out as incumbents raise much larger sums.
