Try Dealroom → has raised US$9.14M in a seed round led by UK-based Crane Venture PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with participation from new and existing backers. The round is ongoing, with the company likely to raise more in later tranches.

What does Armatrix do? Founded in 2024 by IIT Kanpur graduates Vishrant Dave, Prateesh Awasthi, and Ayush Ranjan, the Bengaluru-based company builds snake-like robotic arms for inspection and maintenance in hazardous, confined industrial spaces. Its technology targets shipbuilding, nuclear energy, oil and gas, and aviation, cutting the need for workers to enter dangerous areas.

Who's in? Crane led with US$5.43M. Existing investor pi VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → added US$2.04M, followed by gradCapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? The seed comes less than a year after Armatrix raised $2.1 million in a January 2026 pre-seed. Entrackr estimates the valuation jumped 4.8 times, to US$48.9M from US$10.2M. The company plans to use the proceeds for business expansion and general corporate purposes.

By the numbers: Armatrix stayed pre-revenue in FY26 and reported a net loss of US$414.2K. The valuation step-up is a bet on technical progress and future industrial demand, not demonstrated commercial scale.

What could go wrong? With no revenue yet, the key test is whether the robotic arms move from prototypes to paid pilots and repeat deployments. Armatrix has built a three-metre proof-of-concept arm and plans to scale it to a three-to-five-metre platform.

The signal: The round ranks among the largest seed deals in Indian robotics, in the 99th percentile of 221 such rounds. It fits a broader pickup in the sector, where early-stage funding has risen sharply, with comparable deals including Anscer RoboticsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →' $5.4 million Series A.
