National Manufacturing Group buys A-1 Fiberglass in third deal in a year

What's the deal? National Manufacturing Group has acquired A-1 FiberglassDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Nebraska-based maker of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) products. The Troy, Michigan company announced the deal on November 2, 2026; terms were not disclosed.

Who's involved? National is a multi-plant OEM supplier specializing in custom molded FRP, thermoformed plastics, and metal fabrication. A-1 adds production capacity and a presence in the central US.

What's the endgame? The deal builds on National's existing expertise in composites and gives it more flexibility to distribute production across its growing network of facilities. The goal is a geographically diverse platform that can handle more complex OEM programs.

Why now? The purchase caps an acquisition-led expansion. National bought Wisconsin custom molder Fiber-TechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → in October 2025 and Indiana metal fabricator J.M. Hutton in January 2026, adding stamping, laser-cutting, and finishing capabilities along the way.

"A-1 Fiberglass strengthens our manufacturing platform by adding valuable production capacity and extending our geographic reach," said Adam Fenton, chief executive officer of National Manufacturing Group.

"As our customers grow, we want to ensure we have the resources, flexibility, and infrastructure to grow alongside them," Fenton added.

The signal: Three acquisitions in roughly a year point to a company building a vertically integrated OEM platform rather than making one-off capacity bets. For customers, it means a single supplier spanning composites, plastics, and metalwork across more of the US map.
