Sri Lanka's CAL buys majority of $125M frontier specialist Asia Frontier Capital

Who's who? Founded in 2000 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, CAL manages more than $1.2 billion across Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. AFC, founded in 2013, manages more than $125 million for investors in Europe, Asia and North America, with funds spanning Vietnam, Iraq, and Uzbekistan.
What's the endgame? The deal links CAL's operations in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Singapore with AFC's platform in Hong Kong and its teams in Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Iraq.
