Azerbaijan's ABB Bank returns with $8.82M bond sale months after last raise

What's the deal? International Bank of Azerbaijan, which trades as ABB BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, has launched its eighth and ninth bond issues, together worth AZN 15 million (roughly $8.82 million). The two tranches are interest-bearing, unsecured bonds denominated in Azerbaijani manat, with ABB Invest acting as underwriter and market maker.

The details: The eighth issue totals AZN 5 million, with a 12-month maturity and an 8.5% annual coupon. The ninth adds AZN 10 million over 24 months at 9%. Coupons pay monthly, and the bonds are offered through subscription over two calendar weeks.

Why now? The sale is a quick re-raise. ABB's previous issue — also AZN 5 million — was placed in full in July 2026, and the bank is returning to market just months later.

What's the endgame? ABB says the program aims to "strengthen its position and expand its activity in the capital market," offering retail investors a steady-return instrument. The repeated issues point to a standing funding program rather than one-off financing.

The signal: ABB's small local-currency tranche reads as routine funding and another test of investor appetite. Azerbaijan's bank bond market has shown strength — earlier 2026 ABB offerings were reportedly oversubscribed several times over, while rival Kapital BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → drew nearly three times its AZN 50 million August issue and later tapped a foreign institutional investor. The question now is whether ABB's subscriptions again outstrip supply.
