Telford's Lapis Home buys loft storage brand LoftZone after seven-year tie-up
What's the deal? Telford-based Lapis Home has completed the full acquisition of loft storage specialist LoftZone, ending a seven-year partnership. Lapis first took a stake in LoftZone in 2019, and the deal value was undisclosed.
What do they do? LoftZone, founded in 2010, designs and manufactures StoreFloor, a patented system that raises loft boarding above insulation. Lapis Home invests in and scales specialist home improvement brands.
Why now? The ties have deepened over time. Chief executive Ben Crouch has sat on the LoftZone board since February 2025, moving Lapis from minority shareholder to full owner.
What's the endgame? Lapis is building a portfolio of adjacent storage businesses. The group already includes Instaloft, Instaspark and The Storage Nook Co., and Instaloft previously bought garage-storage specialist GarageFlex in 2022.
At its 2026 launch, the group said it plans further acquisitions, framing the LoftZone move as part of a broader build-out rather than a one-off.
The signal: The deal gives Lapis control of a complementary product business and extends a clear consolidation strategy across the home-storage market. With no price or scale disclosed, the transaction's financial weight is hard to judge — but the direction of travel is firmly toward a larger, integrated group.
