Docterz raises $524K with 60% from the doctors who use it
What's the deal? Indian healthtech startup DocterzDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised US$679K from around 35 investors, with nearly 60% of the capital coming from doctors who use its platform. SUGAR Cosmetics co-founder Vineeta SinghDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and CaratLane co-founder Avnish AnandDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also took part.
What's the endgame? Founded over a decade ago by Dr Atish Laddad, Docterz offers an integrated platform for clinical and administrative workflows, including electronic medical records, appointment scheduling, billing, vaccination management, and patient engagement. It says its technology supports more than 5,000 doctors across India.
Where's the money going? The company plans to expand organically, explore acquisitions, and build practical artificial intelligence tools for doctors. It also wants to reach more independent practitioners, smaller clinics, and healthcare organisations, and is deepening integration with India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
Why it matters? Around 20 doctors who use the platform invested their own money in the round. "What makes this funding round special for me is that around 20 doctors who use Docterz have chosen to invest in its future," Laddad said. "They know the product, they have seen its evolution, and they understand the needs of the medical community."
Singh framed that buy-in as the draw. "One of the strongest signals for any business is when its customers are willing to invest their own money in it," she said.
The signal: The US$679K raise is modest against larger Indian healthtech rounds, such as Clinics On CloudDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s US$16.3M Series A, though the models differ. The more telling detail is the practitioner backing, which hints at product fit. The open question is whether Docterz can convert that support into sustained growth among clinics and doctors.
