Hungary's Intellihr raises $303K to scale AI recruiting platform
What's the deal? Hungarian recruiting startup Intellihr has raised 100 million forints (roughly $303,000) from Óbuda Uni Venture Capital (ÓUVC), the investment fund of Óbuda University. The round was led — and solely financed — by ÓUVC.
What does it do? Intellihr builds an AI platform aimed at hiring blue-collar workers more efficiently, where screening applicants still eats up most recruiters' time. Candidates apply via chat in their own language, with no CV required; the system interviews them, scores them against the role, and builds a personality profile.
What's the endgame? The platform also writes and optimises job ads, and supports white-collar and executive hiring alongside its own blue-collar candidate database. Intellihr plans to use the capital to scale operations — first becoming a major player among Hungarian large and mid-sized firms, then expanding into Central and Eastern Europe.
Chief executive officer István Rácz framed the tool as assistive rather than autonomous. "IntelliHR provides support, it does not decide for us: the final word always belongs to the human," he said (translated from Hungarian).
Why it matters: ÓUVC, founded in 2023, has backed startups across AI, health, food, and hydrogen-tech. The Intellihr deal follows its October investment in Argus Archive, an AI compliance platform founded by an Óbuda University alumnus, pointing to a steady cadence of early-stage bets from the university fund.
The signal: The round is a meaningful early injection for a domestic AI recruiting platform, but a modest one. Hungarian HR-tech has seen far larger deals — TalentunoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → previously raised a €4 million Series A — so Intellihr's raise reads less as a sector-wide funding wave and more as a milestone for one company and the local market for AI-driven hiring.
