Evolve Media buys CafeMom, LittleThings and MamásLatinas to build out family media
What's the deal? Evolve MediaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired parenting and lifestyle brands CafeMom, LittleThings and MamásLatinas, adding more than 40 million combined social media followers to its portfolio. Terms were not disclosed. The three brands previously belonged to Wild Sky Media, owned by Bright Mountain Technologies.
What's the endgame? The deal advances Evolve's Publisher+ strategy, which builds on established publishing brands and extends their content across social media, video, podcasts and creator partnerships. The new titles join kids brand TotallyKidz and pet properties DogTime and CatTime.
Why now? Bright Mountain sold the brands as it shifted focus to its audience intelligence platform, Brightstream. "Evolve has been a valued partner to Bright Mountain," said Matthew Drinkwater, CEO of Bright Mountain, noting the brands were "joining a team we know well."
CafeMom targets mothers at every stage; MamásLatinas delivers content for bilingual and bicultural Latina families; and LittleThings runs uplifting human-interest stories. Evolve plans added editorial investment while preserving each brand's distinct voice.
"CafeMom, LittleThings and MamásLatinas are iconic digital media properties we've admired for years," said Aaron Broder, founder and chief executive officer of Evolve Media. "Together, they deepen Evolve's connection with moms and families."
The signal: The deal fits a pattern of digital publishers buying established titles to build multi-brand portfolios — Static MediaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → bought parenting site Mom.com in August, while Vox Media asset sales to Penske MediaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Lupa SystemsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → underscored wider consolidation. With terms undisclosed, the value hinges on whether Evolve can keep the audiences engaged and convert them into durable advertising revenue.
