Fundraise

Cent buys radiology AI Medsee, raises $15M to scale preventive scans

What's the deal? Preventive health startup CentDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting platform founded by Chitra Singh, and raised $15 million in a Series A round co-led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons. The deal value was not disclosed.

What each side brings: Cent, founded in 2025, runs preventive health centres in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR and has completed 10,000 whole-body scans. Medsee drafts structured reports and flags findings for review by qualified radiologists.

Why now? Cent said the acquisition is meant to support faster, more consistent reporting as scan volumes climb. The company is targeting 10 million scans by 2035.

What's the endgame? Cent is building a full-stack platform of hardware, intelligence and products for early detection of serious illness. Its flagship offering, Cent Check, combines full-body MRI, low-dose CT, DEXA, ECG, echocardiography and more than 100 biomarkers in a roughly two-hour visit, with results reviewed by specialists.

The startup is also building a dataset from its scans to develop health baselines for asymptomatic Indians and train AI models. Among members who felt well at screening, Cent said one in four had a finding requiring action and one in 40 needed immediate care — citing early-stage tumours, narrowed arteries and aneurysms.

Who's backing it? The round, a mix of equity and debt, also drew individual investors including former Vodafone chief executive Arun Sarin and former OpenAI B2B chief technology officer Srinivas Narayanan. Cent was founded by Practo founder Shashank ND, former Ola Electric marketing chief Anshul Khandelwal and former Lenskart product head Arpit Garg.

The signal: The deal reflects a broader shift from AI-radiology pilots toward adoption inside hospital and diagnostic workflows; in July, platform CARPL.ai raised $10 million from IFC to expand its hospital reach. Buying Medsee gives Cent a reporting capability alongside its screening business, though its impact will hinge on clinical validation and real-world deployment rather than funding alone.
