What's the deal? BDODealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired K-CON GmbHDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Swiss firm specialising in Microsoft 365, digital collaboration, and change management. The deal closed on October 1, 2026; terms were not disclosed. Founder Andy Frei now leads BDO's Digital Workplace team.
What's the endgame? BDO Digital wants to broaden its consulting in Microsoft tools, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. K-CON has advised small and medium businesses as well as larger organisations on Microsoft 365 projects, and all its staff move into BDO's existing Digital Workplace team.
Why now? The digital workplace has grown more demanding, with hybrid work, rising security needs, and AI reshaping how organisations operate. Many companies struggle to fold Microsoft 365 and new AI tools into their processes, driving demand for help that links technology, work organisation, and change management.
The combined team pairs Microsoft technical know-how with collaboration, change management, and user adoption skills. "With the added capabilities of the K-CON team, we can support our clients even more comprehensively and accompany them along the entire transformation process," said Michael Gniffke, head of BDO Digital (translated from German).
The signal: The acquisition reflects how consultancies are racing to build AI and Microsoft expertise as firms look to turn software into real workplace change. For BDO, bolting on a specialist team is a quick route to that capability.
