Skyline Aero lands £1.49m NatWest loan to buy more aircraft parts
What's the deal? Skyline Aero, a Wiltshire-based aviation aftermarket company, has secured a £1.49 million ($2 million) trade loan from NatWest. The facility will fund the acquisition of additional aviation assets and the expansion of its headquarters at Oxleaze Business Park in Royal Wootton Bassett.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2013 and led by chief executive officer Bradley Gregory, Skyline Aero acquires and disassembles aircraft, manages component repair programmes, and supplies serviceable parts to airlines and maintenance organisations worldwide. The loan is meant to strengthen its purchasing power, support larger acquisitions, and tighten supply chain control.
Why now? The financing follows NatWest's earlier backing of Skyline Aero's recent site purchase, with the company now investing further in its Wiltshire base.
"This facility strengthens our ability to capitalise on additional aviation asset opportunities and continue investing in our long-term growth plans," Gregory said.
James Henderson, senior relationship manager at NatWest, said Skyline Aero is "a fantastic example of the innovative mid-market businesses helping to drive growth across Wiltshire and the wider South West."
The signal: Demand for used serviceable components is rising as airlines keep older aircraft flying amid delayed deliveries and persistent maintenance bottlenecks. Larger players are moving in too: GA TelesisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → said in October it was adding five A320neo aircraft this year to build a supply of next-generation aftermarket parts. In a market where access to aircraft and parts is a competitive edge, Skyline Aero's modest, targeted loan is a bet that owning more assets will pay off.
