Aries raises $7M seed to build an AI-powered trading canvas
What's the deal? Stock trading platform AriesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised $7 million in seed funding, led by Interactive Brokers founder Thomas Peterffy. Kleiner Perkins, Collision, John PaulsonDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and 638 users also participated.
What's the endgame? Aries is building a brokerage and announced the round alongside Aries Infinite, a customisable trading workspace. The company describes it as an "infinitely scalable trading canvas" where users build components individually or generate interfaces by asking AI.
Why now? Retail brokerages are competing on more than commission-free trades. Robinhood recently unveiled AI trading agents, crypto derivatives, and plans for 24/7 trading in select stocks.
By the numbers: Aries' raise lands in the top quintile of seed rounds by size. It is modest, though, beside the $10 million pre-seed that Epic Markets secured this summer to build a multi-asset brokerage.
What could go wrong? Peterffy's backing is notable given his ties to a major incumbent, but a distinctive interface alone won't guarantee trust. The open question is whether Aries can become a differentiated, trusted brokerage rather than another trading app.
The signal: As AI reshapes how retail investors interact with markets, early capital is flowing to startups that rethink the trading interface itself — not just the price of a trade.
