Japan's Enrission backs Indian freight startup Raaho's Pre-Series A
What's the deal? Japan's Enrission India CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has invested in RaahoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Indian digital freight marketplace that matches third-party logistics (3PL) firms with truckers. The Kyoto-based firm backed the Pre-Series A round through its "Enrission SP26 India Investment Fund." Terms were not disclosed.
What does Raaho do? Founded in 2017 and based in Haryana, Raaho runs an online platform that connects 3PL operators with truck owners. Shippers post delivery requirements, and Raaho's system filters trucks by location, route fit, vehicle type, past ratings, and cancellation rates before an operations team finalises terms and pricing.
Why now? India has roughly 3.5 million trucking operators, but 75% own fewer than five trucks, leaving the sector largely undigitised. Arranging trucks through brokers typically runs on cash, takes 24 to 48 hours, and carries steep fees — the inefficiency Raaho aims to cut.
By the numbers: Raaho says it has covered more than 100 million kilometres, carried over 1.1 million tonnes, and lifted earnings 25% for parties on its network. It has previously raised US$169.8K in 2021 and an additional US$271.6K in 2023.
Enrission, founded in 2024, invests in early-stage startups tied to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and operates under the mission of contributing to the development of Japan and India "through investment" (translated from Japanese). It said it backed Raaho for combining digital technology with ground-level operations.
The signal: The round lands in a competitive segment. Rival freight-matching platform TrucksUp raised $8.2 million in August 2026 to strengthen its technology and matching tools, underscoring investor appetite for digitising India's fragmented trucking market.
