Jupiter Life Line Hospitals borrows $52.7M from HDFC Bank for hospital build-out

What's the deal? Jupiter Life Line Hospitals has secured a US$67.9M term loan from HDFC BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the company said in a regulatory filing dated October 18, 2026. The post-IPO debt facility includes a US$40.7M letter-of-credit sublimit and will fund capital expenditure.

What's the company? Founded in 2007 in Thane, Maharashtra, Jupiter operates multi-specialty tertiary and quaternary hospitals across western India. It expanded to Pune in 2017 and acquired a hospital in Indore in 2020.

Deal terms: The loan carries an exclusive charge on Jupiter's Dombivli and Pune Baner hospitals, plus a pari passu charge on current assets and receivables. The filing noted no shareholding, related-party transactions, or special rights such as board seats.

Why now? Jupiter is in an expansion cycle, adding roughly 1,700 beds across Dombivli, Pune South, Mira Road, and BKC to reach nearly 2,900 beds over the next few years. The facility adds debt to a plan management has said will lean on internal cash generation, with a self-imposed ceiling of 3x EBITDA.

By the numbers: FY26 revenue rose 15.2% to US$203.7M, with EBITDA up 14.4% to US$46.6M and margins near 22.9%. The company spent about US$67.9M on capex in FY26.

The signal: Indian hospital groups are expected to add more than 38,000 beds by 2030, according to a Crisil estimate cited by Business Today. Jupiter's loan shows how listed operators are blending debt with cash flow to fund that build-out, rather than returning to equity markets.
