What does it do? Founded in 2024 by Satendra Singh, Prof. BS Butola, and Dilip Singh, IndigoTex calls itself India's first waterless wool finishing technology startup. Its flagship product, IndiWool Denim, pairs the durability of denim with the warmth and comfort of wool, in variants ranging from low-wool all-weather fabrics to wool-rich options for colder climates.
Where's the money going? The funds will cover manufacturing and factory setup, sales and operations hiring, commercialisation of IndiWool Denim and washable wool fabrics, further R&D, and certifications for domestic and international markets. Production will scale at a facility in Rai Industrial Area, Sonipat, Haryana, while R&D stays at IIT Delhi's Research and Innovation Park.
Where is it expanding? IndigoTex is building an international presence across cold-climate markets. It has started discussions and collaborations in France, Russia, and Denmark, and plans to deepen its reach across Europe, North America, and Australia — markets where wool's thermal properties carry the most value.
What's the endgame? The company wants to position India as a source of deep-tech textile innovation for global markets. Beyond denim, it is developing ECOTEX Wool, a technology for washable wool and poly/wool fabrics that cuts the usual reliance on dry cleaning.

"This investment marks an important milestone in our journey as we build a deep-tech textile company from India for global markets," said chief executive officer Satendra Singh.
The signal: Small-ticket angel backing for a materials startup reflects growing investor appetite for sustainable, export-oriented textile technology — a bet that India can compete on innovation, not just manufacturing scale.
