Swiss HR platform atwork buys Germany's Cubia to pair AI with 26 years of survey data
What's the deal? Swiss people-intelligence platform atworkDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired 100% of Cubia AG, a Konstanz-based provider of employee surveys and 360° feedback. The deal value was not disclosed. Cubia will continue as a standalone brand called "Cubia — an atwork company."
What each side brings: Cubia has run employee surveys and 360° feedback in Germany since 2000, handling over 100 client projects a year across industry, finance, insurance, and public utilities. Roughly 500,000 people take part in its surveys annually, building a benchmarking database for the German-speaking market.
The rationale: atwork combines Cubia's survey expertise and DACH market experience with its AI-driven platform, which turns survey results into automated action plans and quantifies their effect on business metrics.
The atwork Suite becomes the technological core of the combined offering. It adds real-time dashboards, driver analysis, automated action plans, and interfaces to around 100 core HR and payroll systems. The platform links feedback data with metrics such as overtime, absenteeism, and turnover.
What changes for customers? Cubia's clients keep the same methodology, guidance, and Cubia experts, now backed by atwork's technology. "Our customers receive the same methodology, the same support, and the same care as before," said Cubia founder Matthias Diete (translated from German). Diete stays on to manage the transition.
Why now? "The connection between Cubia's experience and data expertise and our leading platform and data models allows our customers to derive concrete measures more precisely," said Marco Meister, founder and chief executive officer of atwork (translated from German). He framed the deal as positioning Cubia for "the coming years of technological change."
The signal: The acquisition reflects consolidation in the HR-tech market, where AI-native platforms are absorbing established survey specialists to pair proprietary data with automation. For atwork, buying decades of benchmarking data offers a shortcut to credibility in the DACH region that would be slow to build alone.
