What each side brings: Founded in 2011 in Bayonne, Santé Basque operates five facilities, employs more than 300 staff, and works with around 50 salaried and independent psychiatrists and doctors. It offers full hospitalisation and day-hospitalisation care across specialised pathways, including eating disorders, addiction, bipolar disorders, child and young-adult psychiatry, and post-emergency care.
Why Creadev? The firm is making mental health a priority area. All five of Santé Basque's facilities are certified by France's Haute Autorité de Santé, with three holding the regulator's highest quality distinction.
What's the endgame? Creadev will back Santé Basque to accelerate growth in France and potentially further afield. “Creadev's arrival . . . allows us to build the next stage . . . so that more patients in France, and then in Europe, can receive quality care,” said Jane-Christie Corinthien, president of the group.
The signal: “Mental health is a major concern for the French and an emergency for our healthcare system,” said Marc Chipot, senior investment director in Creadev's health team. The deal reflects growing investor appetite for specialised mental health providers as demand outpaces capacity.
