Aibo Medical Robot raises tens of millions of yuan in Series A extension

What's the deal? Aibo Medical Robot, a Chinese developer of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional surgical robots, has raised tens of millions of yuan in a Series A extension. Puhe Capital led the round, with Longgang Financial HoldingsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → participating.

What's the endgame? The company builds vascular interventional surgical robots that combine artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, big data, and telemedicine. The systems perform precise minimally invasive procedures, aiming to improve success rates and shorten patient recovery times through high positioning and operating accuracy.

Why it matters? The robots also shield surgeons from X-ray radiation during conventional interventional procedures. They remove the need to wear lead protective suits weighing more than 20kg, which cause operational strain and long-term injury.

The signal: Aibo aims to fill a domestic gap and advance China's push to replace imported interventional surgical robots with homegrown systems — a goal that aligns the round with Beijing's broader drive toward self-sufficiency in advanced medical technology.
